Life, Produced. — The Move

More than moving house.
A whole new chapter.

She was ready for a change, but leaving the former family home was not a simple decision. Her marriage had ended, the house held years of memories, and a second property had been undergoing a major renovation for almost two years.

There were two homes to think about, a move to organise and a great deal of emotion sitting alongside the practical decisions. We worked closely with her to bring some order to it all.

First came the family home. Together we worked through years of belongings, deciding what to keep, sell or let go. We coordinated gardening, cleaning, painting, repairs and trades to prepare the property for its next chapter.

Initially, that chapter was short-term rental accommodation. We helped style the house, organised photography and listing copy, and managed the many details of welcoming guests. Fresh flowers and foliage, luxury welcome provisions, and a cheese and charcuterie board were among the finishing touches.

We put together digital and printed guides to the home and its amenities, coordinated laundry, cleaning and maintenance, managed guest communications and remained a point of contact during stays. Between bookings, we organised replenishment and prepared for the next arrivals.

Moving between properties also required an interim hotel stay, which we arranged as part of the wider relocation.

Eventually, our client decided a long-term family tenancy was a better fit for her former home. We managed that transition too. It allowed her to focus on the place she had been waiting so long to move into.

Throughout we were closely involved in the renovation, coordinating builders and trades, managing defects and budgets, and keeping a complex project moving. When the house was finally ready, we oversaw the physical move, unpacking, furniture placement and the many details involved in settling in.

We saw an additional opportunity. Drawing on an existing relationship with Luxaflex, we introduced the brand to the homeowner, and pitched a collaboration. Luxaflex supplied and installed products in exchange for content, and later arranged and funded magazine coverage of the home.

The house went on to appear on the front cover of Australian House & Garden, in a seven-page sponsored feature and in a separate Luxaflex back-cover advertisement.

The magazine was a lovely final chapter. But the real achievement was helping someone navigate a difficult departure, manage two properties and finally settle into a home that had been two years in the making.
